Dr Emma Haverhoek, Dermatologist
MBBS MPHC FACD
Dermatologist, Malvern Dermatology. Visiting Medical Specialist, Royal Adelaide Hospital. Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
Dr Emma Haverhoek is an experienced Adelaide-trained dermatologist, having pursued her interest in this field since completing medical school in 2000. Her areas of expertise include both medical and surgical dermatology, as well as women’s and paediatric dermatological conditions. Other interests include but are not limited to; acne management, hair loss disorders and diagnosing and treating skin cancers. At Malvern Dermatology she is able to offer both dermatologic surgery where required plus other procedures such as botox injections for excessive axillary sweating.
Emma is the current SA Director of Training and enjoys being involved in medical education at state and College level. She was on the editorial expert committee of “Therapeutic Guidelines – Dermatology” volume 4 published in 2016, and has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals.
Emma is married to Pieter and they have two young daughters. Her spare time is filled with catching up with family and friends, as well as pilates, tennis and hiking.
Dr Rachel Manifold, Dermatologist
MBBS MSC (Med) FRCPA FACD
Dr Rachel Manifold is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
Dr Manifold completed her undergraduate medical degree from the University of Adelaide in 1997. Moving to Sydney in 1998, Dr Manifold researched photodynamic therapy, a type of treatment for skin cancer and was awarded a Master of Science (Medicine) from the University of New South Wales in 2003. At the same time Dr Manifold trained as as an anatomical pathologist. Dr Manifold trained and practiced as an anatomical pathologist at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (Sydney), Royal Melbourne Hospital (Melbourne) and the Flinders Medical Centre (Adelaide)
Dr Manifold commenced training in dermatology in 2007 and was admitted as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2012. Since 2012, Dr Manifold has worked as a consultant dermatologist in private practice and as a Visiting Medical Specialist to Flinders Medical Centre. Dr Manifold’s interests are general dermatology, paediatric dermatology and surgical dermatology. Dr Manifold is also involved in teaching dermatology registrars, junior doctors and medical students.
Dr Manifold is a keen sportswoman, a love which was fostered by growing up in a small country town on the Eyre Peninsula. Dr Manifold and her husband have three young daughters who keep them busy. Spending time with family and friends and pursuing a healthy, active lifestyle is what motivates Dr Manifold and she is keen to bring this holistic approach to her work as a dermatologist.
Dr Chloe Lim, Dermatologist
MBBS, FRACGP, FACD
Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice.
Dr Chloe Lim is a dermatologist who manages patients with conditions of the skin, hair and nails. Her areas of special interest include complex psoriasis and eczema, autoimmune skin disorders, skin cancer surveillance and surgery, infectious diseases and paediatric dermatology.
Her approach brings a commitment to patient education including lifestyle and general measures. She provides sensitive and inclusive care that is supported by excellent communication with referring doctors and other health care providers.
Dr Lim graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2004. She completed her fellowship in general practice in 2009, having worked in regional, rural and remote settings in Far North Queensland before returning to Adelaide. She was awarded the David Game Memorial Medal for her performance in FRACGP exams. After working in general practice, skin cancer clinics, and medical education, Dr Lim decided to pursue her interest in dermatology, completing her fellowship in South Australia in January 2021.
Dr Fiona Menz, Dermatologist
MBBS, MPH, FACD
Dr Menz is a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists with an interest in all areas of dermatology including skin cancer, medical dermatology (eczema, psoriasis, acne etc), paediatric dermatology and women’s health. She provides dedicated care to her patients and excellent communication with referring practitioners.
During her dermatology training she has worked at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, The Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Royal Darwin Hospital and rural Northern Territory.
She has presented academic papers both in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology and at the Australasian College of Dermatologist’s Annual Scientific Meetings. She is a current primary reviewer of the dermatology chapter of the Therapeutic Guidelines.
Prior to dermatology training she completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide achieving the Sir Trent Champion de Crespigny Memorial Prize (dux of final clinical examinations) and a Master of Public Health (with distinction) with the University of Newcastle.
Dr Rachel Manifold, Dr Emma Haverhoek, Dr Chloe Lim and Dr Fiona Menz are keenly supported by an experienced nursing and administration team. Gae is Malvern Dermatology’s practice manager, Linda, Sue and Jo are our receptionists, and Virginia our specialist dermatology registered nurse who is at the practice full time to cater for all assisting and nursing needs.
